Greetings River Landing Community !
You heard?  Out of our 330 Homes in River Landing, approxiomately 52 are in "Foreclosure"!    YIKES!

Just across the street from my home are two empty homes!
The Pink House is being maintained by CountryWide.
The large blue and white ........not being maintained so far........?
The shrubbery by the front entrance 'was' very overgrown and the yellow grass was very tall!
It very much looked "empty".............."vacant"............."abandoned".....
An "invitation" to thieves to steal copper wiring/plumbing and hooligan teenagers to maybe want to "break in" and have "Beer Parties" etc?
And don't you know while this vacant house is being "vandalized"......how easy it would be for my home
TO ALSO BE VANDALIZED!  Just because of its "close proximity"!

My Yard Maintenance Man "Alberto" has been caring for my yard for three years now, since my stroke in Sep '05, as I am just no longer "physically" able to take care of it myself.....
Alberto is very reasonable.........only $40 for each visit..........and he comes once a month.
COUPLE TIMES A YEAR?  Doing Leaves CleanUp and Tree Pruning?  I give Alberto an extra $20!
He has kept my yard......front & back......... looking great 365 days a year!

Recently......after one of his "visits".....I paid "Alberto" an additional $40 to trim and clean up the front yard of
the vacant home at 810 Schooner Dr,  across the street from me.
And I encouraged the neighbors to maybe 'once in a while' park one of their cars in the Drive Way as to make the "Vacant" Home at 810 Schooner Dr. 'look less vacant' to "Hooligans and Thieves"?

You ALL may also want to consider doing something similar as well?
If you have a vacant home on your street.........a great thing you could do.....is just 8 neighbors.......
The 4 on each side of the vacant home and the 4 homes directly across the street from the "Vacant Home"...
8 Neighbors could each contribute just $5 each......totalling $40

A Personal Note from "Sam".......
My dear Neighbors............this is just one more reason I am not enthused with Our Community having an HOA!
Our HOA costs us $99,000 a year........after year..........after year!  In ten years, ONE MILLION DOLLARS!
And for what?  Our Community is getting vandalized more and more every year!  More homes........even ones that are NOT Vacant look so very bad that we should call the Fire Marshall!  Why can't our HOA actually do something about this home and several others like it?
The "Fines", "Violations" and as many other restrictions living under the "Thumb" of an HOA actually only apply to us Law-Abiding Residents? Other homeowners just simply totally ignore the fines issued by Scott?
The money we spend on our seldom-used Pool that is always vandalized  and our RV Storage Area should be spent on Community-Wide Surveillance Cameras and  Speed Limit Signs, making River Landing THE SAFEST COMMUNITY IN THE STATE!
And all 330 River Landing Home Owners should enjoy "Informational" Voting Rights on our totally Free Website/Message Board
whereby we could actively participate 24/7 365 days a year from any computer!
And all of our Infrequent HOA Meetings should NOT be scheduled at the "Dinner Hour" of 5:30 PM.....but instead at 7 or 7:30 PM!
